Dear Parents and Staff

Auburn school lunch has begun using a new automated cash register system that uses a PIN for each student and staff. When students enroll in school, they are assigned a digit Student Identification Number. It is important for each student to memorize this number as it will be used daily as their PIN for the system (7th & 8th grade). The PIN is confidential information, and the number should not be given to another student Using someone else's PIN is the same as stealing their lunch ticket and must be discouraged.

THE SYSTEM

At mealtime, everyone enters his or her PIN on a keypad at the register.(7th & 8th grade). K-6 students go to lunch by class room. The list of names for that class room is on the screen. The cashier checks the students name, for a meal. If students have enough money in their account, the price of the meal will be automatically deducted from the balance. Warnings will be given ahead for low balances. Charging is discouraged. Because the system is set up to have money in students account. It is more work, paper, printing, etc if we need to send home lunch charge letters.

MAKING PAYMENTS.

Deposits by check are preferred, (in case money is misplaced) but cash is always accepted. The lines will move faster every day, especially if accounts are debited. Any amount may be added to an account at any time. For instance, a ten or twenty dollar bill received by us on Friday is available that day, and any day thereafter until used up. Checks may be made payable to the Auburn School Lunch Program for any amount. Send them in with your student. If you prefer, checks may be mailed to Paula Rouillard, Food Services Director, where she will add to your student’s account. Be sure to include the student name, especially if names are different or you have more than one student. The computer system records and stores all information about the student and staff meals. Prepayments are encouraged. Deposits on accounts are sent to the lunch room by teachers, on a daily basis ( k-6) The lines will move more quickly at lunch if money is on account prior to lunch. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank You!
