The ASD School Committee is developing a plan to provide teachers in grades 7-12 additional development time.  This time will allow teachers to master and implement proficiency-based system and to develop more customized learning plans for students. This proposal will affect grades 7-12 only. Elementary will continue to have half day Wednesdays during full weeks of school.

A study group made up of teachers, parents, administrators and School Committee members has been working on a proposal for how to structure the development time within the existing school calendar.  It is the goal of both the study group and the School Committee to maximize student class time and minimize any negative impact caused for families by the proposed changes.  Please take a moment to respond to the survey below or by accessing the survey link. The survey will remain open through October 20th.

You can share your survey responses in one of two ways:

  1. Return the paper copy to your school office; OR

  2. Access the survey online through this link -  http://bit.ly/2kJP7Gi

The results of this survey will be used to guide our final proposal to the School Committee.

Thank you for your time. We value your input,

The Gr. 7-12 Professional Development Study Group
